La Importancia de tener un Servidor Seguro(SSL)
Google, owner of the Chrome browser with about 74% of market share, has announced that websites that do not have secure HTTPS connections will be labeled as unsafe to warn users that their information, passwords or credit cards may Be compromised.
Surely you have noticed that Google Chrome from the beginning of this 2017, in the bar where the URL and in websites with HTTPS, we can see in green the word “It is Safe”
All this came from the version 56 of Chrome, which was launched on December 31, 2016, and that starting January 31, 2017 will begin to mark, apart from insurance, as “No Insurance” all those websites Without Secure Server (Https)
This new “Not Safe” label, also in red and with a warning icon, will be displayed on any page of your site that contains a form asking for passwords or payment credentials, such as credit card numbers.
And why all these changes now?
Websites on HTTP transmit data without encryption, so any hacker could easily collect data from the users or clients of your web.
On the contrary, in HTTPS all the data travels encrypted, and the data of your users and clients are safe.
Do I have to install an SSL certificate yes or no?
These certificates are necessary for web pages with information exchange with users and online stores, to ensure the transmission of sensitive information such as credit card numbers, passwords, personal information and access accounts to different services.
In addition, you expose yourself to the danger of losing traffic and visits from Google, and credibility by your visitors and / or future buyers, since the vast majority of the world uses Chrome, the most widely spread browser.
In invertiaWeb we have different types of SSL certificates (HTTPS) to protect the communications of our clients so that their visitors never have to see an insecure page message on their website.
